We work with a variety of technologies: Netezza, Exadata/Oracle, Teradata, DB2 and SQL Server database platforms; MicroStrategy, Cognos and OBIEE, BO OLAP platforms; and QuantiSense and Oracle RA BI/DW applications.
Responsibilities:
- Provide billable consulting support to achieve account objectives and production success, including requirements gathering, development, enhancement, integration, functional design
- Lead the technical aspects of customer requirements analysis, review technical specification for completeness and recommend appropriate business systems and IT infrastructure
- Perform data modeling, application development, technical product assistance and tuning to meet customer performance and functional requirements
- Contribute to DW/BI industry knowledge capital via project documentation, establishing and monitoring systems support and development processes, and delivering best practice solutions
- Manage/lead technical consultant teams of 2-5 people on a client project
- Participate in technical and functional software implementation pre-sales activities
- Work with and influence leadership within IT organization and business partners (clients) to capture/validate requirements and convert into information management solutions
- Facilitate problem-solving on technical matters or problems of high complexity
- Mentor Software Engineers towards achieving higher level of skills necessary to perform the tasks at the expert level
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years of experience in applications, technical/development process, information systems analysis and technical consulting, with at least 5 of those years in data warehousing/business intelligence
- 3+ years of project management experience (managing project scope, project life cycle)
- Functional expertise spanning business intelligence technologies, business process integration, consulting skills, enterprise data warehousing and advanced analytics
- Experience on multiple hardware and software environments and comfort with complex heterogeneous systems environments
- Strong understanding of all current business intelligence technologies with a good understanding of emerging technologies
- Demonstrated ability to assimilate business requirements, create associated documentation, and implement business intelligence solutions in large scale cross-functional programs
- Developed leadership capabilities, with the ability to communicate with and influence others within IT and business groups
- Extensive experience providing technical leadership on complex projects following software development methodologies including Agile and Waterfall
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of design and construction of business intelligence and reporting applications - ability to validate data models against requirements
- Strong database analysis and problem solving skills - knowledge and understanding of data warehouse design
- Experience with data warehouse ETL tools, processes and performance tuning
- Experience in creation and execution of EDW/BI test plans, from unit testing through systems integration testing
- Ability to write complex SQL queries to generate a variety of views of underlying operational and analytical data sets
