MicroStrategy Developer/Consultant
We are looking for motivated MicroStrategy Developers/Consultants who want to be a part of a seasoned team of BI professionals working with clients to facilitate the design, development and implementation of successful Enterprise Data Warehouse systems. We have a number of open positions and are looking for both Senior Consultants with 5+ years of experience as well as Junior Consultants with 2+ years of experience with the ability to work in either the San Francisco / Bay area or in our Downtown Minneapolis office. Yomari is a fast growing dynamic company that focuses exclusively in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence consulting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide billable consulting support to achieve account objectives and production success. Services may include: product installation and implementation, enhancement, integration, or audit to meet customer business requirements
- Perform information systems needs assessment, information gathering and recommend appropriate business systems and IT infrastructure for customers
- Work with business users to facilitate, lead and coordinate the discovery of functional requirements and translate the functional requirements into technical design documents
- Be responsible for building, testing, deploying and maintaining end-to-end BI solutions as per user requirements, including ETL programs, data marts, metrics, KPIs, and reports
- Be responsible for quality assurance of report content and technical maintenance of the BI reporting environment to eliminate errors and ensure accuracy of data.
- Be responsible for continually analyzing the BI reporting environment to make recommendations for technical and functional improvements and/or upgrades.
- Serve as a technical expert for business users in helping them understand the BI architecture and data structure so that they can be self-sufficient in building ad-hoc reports and performing data analysis
- Serve as a functional expert in the IT department with detailed understanding of the business purpose and relevance of all the technical components and processes that make up the BI reporting environment
- Participate in sales activities, when appropriate
- Experience and knowledge of MicroStrategy Web Tools
- Experience and knowledge of Microstrategy Desktop Tools ( OLAP Services, Report Services, Architect, Administrator)
- Ability to use MicroStrategy tools for:
- Data modeling – Star/Snowflake Schema
- Metrics creation
- Report creation
- Schema objects design and creation
- Dashboard design and creation
- Administration
- OLAP Tool: Experience with administration, configuration and usage of Business Intelligence tools such as OBIEE, MicoStrategy, Business Objects, Cognos
- Relational Database: Proficiency in programming for relational databases such as Oracle, Teradata, Netezza, and DB2 with demonstrated experience in managing large volumes of data.
- ETL Tool Skills: Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Ab Initio, Oracle Data Integrator
- Programming: Strong skills in SQL and Unix shell scripting are required. Knowledge of other programming skills in C++, Java, HTML, ASP, etc. is a plus.
- Education: 4 year Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
- IT Experience: 5+ years in Information Technology environment, primarily in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing application development and implementation for Senior Consultant; 2+ years for Junior Consultant.
