Customer Success Stories

Williams-Sonoma is a four billion dollar retailer based out of San Francisco, CA, that sells upscale household goods and furnishings through its stores and direct-to-customer channels. It has over 600 stores and owns such brands as Pottery Barn, West Elm and Williams-Sonoma Home.

Williams-Sonoma’s 2 TB data warehouse has over 650 active users running about 3000 on-demand reports every day. Williams-Sonoma sought Yomari’s expertise to develop and expand their retail data warehouse to a robust multi-channel and multi-brand enterprise reporting system. Yomari provided full life-cycle business intelligence consulting services that included everything from gathering end-user requirements to final production roll-out.

Williams-Sonoma uses Oracle’s Retail Data Warehouse (RDW) as the core of its data warehouse application, but has implemented significant custom solutions and functionality around this core. Data flowing to this application comes from dozens of applications including JDA, RMS, ReSA, IPMS, PKMS, etc.

Williams-Sonoma’s data warehouse uses Teradata as the database server, Ab Initio as the ETL tool, and MicroStrategy and Business Objects as the OLAP tools.
